Greater Than One

Greater Than One, the London industrial outfit, consisted of the vocalists, keyboardists, and programmers Lee Newman and Michael Wells. Though lighter than most industrial acts and displaying a measure of humor, the pair began issuing music in the mid-1980s through limited-edition and cassette-only recordings, among them the 1987 album All the Masters Licked Me. Their first widely available full-length, Dance of the Cowards, appeared in 1988. Wax Trax! reissued that album in the United States the following year as the two-disc set London, which added six extra tracks. Greater Than One next delivered G-Force in 1989 and the Index EP in 1991, after which the duo and Wax Trax! ended their association. ROIR released Duty and Trust in 1992, after which the group produced no further recordings.
