The multinational Greenwich Trio benefited from guidance offered by leading figures in the chamber music world. Festivals around the globe have hosted the ensemble on numerous occasions, and it has produced multiple recordings.

Established in 2006, the Greenwich Trio initially consisted of violinist Lana Trotovšek, cellist Stjepan Hauser—who studied finally under Mstislav Rostropovich—and pianist Yoko Misumi, with Heather Tuach assuming the cello position during the 2010s. Each member had completed studies at Trinity College of Music in London, located in the Greenwich district, while maintaining active solo trajectories. Pianist Stephen Kovacevich and cellist Bernard Greenhouse, himself a veteran of the Beaux Arts Trio, provided coaching; Greenhouse designated the group as the new Beaux Arts Trio and actively promoted its development. Additional instruction came from the Alban Berg Quartet, the Wihan Quartet, the full Beaux Arts Trio, and further ensembles. Early recognition arrived through competitive successes across Britain, Belgium, and Italy, complemented by Solti Foundation and Tunnell Trust Awards plus the top prize at the Beethoven Society of Europe Chamber Music Competition.

The ensemble performed during the 2008 inaugural events at London’s Kings Place arts complex and gave its official debut at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw the next year. A sequence of concerts followed at Madrid’s Royal Palace under the auspices of Spain’s Patriomonia Nacional. Its first recording, issued in 2012 on the Meridian label, featured trios by Beethoven and Mendelssohn; Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B flat major, Op. 97, later appeared on Hedone Records. Festival engagements have formed a particular strength, encompassing appearances at the Festival Internacional de Santander, Rheingau Musik Festival, and Festival Ljubljana alongside numerous British events. In 2023 the Greenwich Trio resumed its recording activity on the Linn label, initiating a projected series of the Brahms piano trios.
