Greg Annussek, the New York-based musician, singer, and songwriter, pulls from an array of sources that range from Elvis Costello, Wilco, Matthew Sweet, Hole, the Velvet Underground, and Sheryl Crow. This background leaves him equally comfortable writing a guitar-driven rocker, an alternative country tune, or a pop-folk ballad. Throughout the late 90's he belonged to Philadelphia-based alt-rock outfit Peter Sellers' Girlfriend, a group that performed in the region and released a self-titled EP. In 1999, however, Annussek opted to launch a solo career, moving to New York City, assembling a new band, and starting work on his first solo album. The resulting debut, Little Palaces, appeared in 2001 and contained ten alternative rock/pop originals that placed heavy emphasis on melodic, singalong choruses.
