Kansas City native and humorist Greg Tamblyn launched his musical education on trumpet. By his early teens he had shifted to guitar, drawn by his love of singing, an activity the trumpet made cumbersome. High school found him performing with a neighborhood rock ensemble, while college prompted him to launch a solo act that ultimately proved the right fit. His recordings blend folk, pop, rock, jazz, and blues into emotionally uplifting pieces that remain humorous yet frequently feature positive lyrics.

The debut solo album, The Shootout at the I'm OK, You're OK Corral, appeared in 1992, followed a year later by the sophomore release No Credentials Whatsoever. Subsequent projects include How Could Life Be Better Than This, Art From the Heart, and the 2001 double-CD set The Grand Design. Representative tracks from these uplifting collections run from “My Life Is a Beer Commercial” and “Clyde, My Inner Guide” to “I Have a Tendency for Codependency,” “I Drink, Therefore I Am,” and “You Can't Blame the Wreck on the Train,” titles that themselves invite smiles.

Beyond performing, Tamblyn has proven a skilled songwriter, penning material for fellow artists, collecting multiple music awards, and completing international tours that have placed him before enthusiastic crowds at clubs, festivals, conferences, conventions, and churches.
