Biography
Gregg Jarrell stands among a cohort of classical composers whose piano works favor a moody, minimalist approach lightly infused with jazz theory, all supported by his extensive formal training. He studied at the Hartford Conservatory for Music and entered as one of its youngest pupils ever at the age of 8. Soon seeking wider horizons, he immersed himself in the standard repertoire and mastered intricate works by numerous major composers. His college years brought widespread recognition for his keyboard abilities, which in turn produced a steady stream of hotel and wedding engagements. While he simultaneously built a thriving career in Respiratory Care and Public Health, Jarrell issued his first album, Timepiece, in 2000.
