Biography
Grounders came together in Toronto, Canada during 2010, their sound built around melodic and atmospheric indie rock that carried hints of neo-psychedelia and dream pop. The lineup included lead singer and guitarist Andrew Davis, guitarist and keyboardists Evan Lewis and Daniel Busheikin, and bassist Mike Searle. Marcel Ramagnano handled production, recording, and mixing for the band’s first EP, Wreck of a Smile, which appeared on Nevado Records in spring 2013. Their self-titled debut album was tracked alongside Ramagnano and David Newfeld, whose prior credits include Broken Social Scene and Chikita Violenta, while DIANA’s Kieren Adams contributed drums; the record surfaced in spring 2015.
