Formed in Mexicali, Baja California during 2014, the Mexican norteño outfit Grupo Recluta operates under the leadership of vocalist and principal songwriter Manuel Rodelo. The band’s first public recording arrived in 2016 with the live set Para Los Amigos (En Vivo), which presented a straightforward traditional corridos ensemble, yet subsequent releases revealed an openness to modernizing the style and incorporating elements from additional genres. Throughout the following ten years the group steadily cultivated a substantial audience inside the norteño scene, relying chiefly on relentless live performances and studio output that placed multiple singles repeatedly on the Regional charts, among them “El Ilegal,” “Se Fue La Pantera,” and “De Boca en Boca.” By 2024 Grupo Recluta had issued more than twenty studio and concert albums, including La Pantera Rosa (2017), Hasta Que Amanezca (2020), Hablando Claro (2021), La Receta (2022), Pisando Fuerte (2023), and Sin Censura (2024).
