Biography
Established in 1996, the Spanish pop/rock outfit Guaraná drew primary inspiration from traditional Latin rhythms alongside Jamaican reggae and electric funk. Fronted by singer and guitarist Juan Ramón Arnaiz alongside bassist Vicente Miras, drummer Paquito Cherro, percussionist Cuco Chelín, and guitarist David Navarro, the group launched their career via the Gonzalo Benavides-produced album El Efecto Guaraná, which they supported with performances throughout Madrid’s club circuit.
