Biography
Based in North Carolina, Hail! Hornet operates as a supergroup whose roster features vocalist T-Roy Medlin of Sourvein, guitarist Vince Burke from Beaten Back to Pure and Sourvein, bassist "Dixie" Dave Collins with credits in Weedeater, Buzzov*en, and Bongzilla, plus drummer Erik Larson of Alabama Thunderpussy, the Might Could, the Mighty Nimbus, and additional projects. The four musicians first assembled in 2006, merging metal, hardcore, sludge, Southern, and stoner rock across their self-titled debut from 2007 and the 2011 follow-up Disperse the Curse. Despite never touring, owing to conflicting commitments among the members, both releases drew widespread acclaim from critics and listeners.
