Biography
In 1997 the outfit Hair of the Dog, comprising Ryan Spencer Cook on guitar and vocals, Mike Dupke on drums, Boot on bass and John A. Sepetys on guitar, issued a self-released effort also called Hair of the Dog. Strong listener reaction to the track “Caddilac Jack” featured on a radio sampler prompted the recording. Over the ensuing two years the musicians logged extensive touring miles. They subsequently secured a deal with Spitfire and delivered their follow-up album Rise. Fresh roadwork followed, allowing the record to gain substantial momentum until health setbacks began to hinder Sepetys. Difficulties with his hand ultimately forced his departure. Although the remaining members have since tracked a third album titled Ignite, a permanent replacement for Sepetys has yet to be found.
