Biography
Born in 1973 and 1972 respectively, Jo-Ann and Becky Haley grew up in Harden, West Yorkshire, England. Kevin Raymond joined them to launch the Applejack Trio in 1989. The Haley sisters chose to continue as a duo from 1990 onward, guided by veteran UK entertainer Tony Best. UK country awards arrived quickly, and their touring schedule soon included Daniel O’Donnell and Raymond Froggatt. Innate performers, they draw from traditional country with ‘When I Stop Dreaming’, pop material such as ‘So Sad’ and ‘Breakin’ In A Brand New Broken Heart’, and newer country songs including ‘Victim Of The Game’ plus Sweethearts Of The Rodeo’s aptly titled ‘Sisters - Best Of Friends’. Their 1996 triumph came with the Best UK Group/Duo honor at the Great British Country Music Awards.
