Biography
Formed in Canada around 1982 under the name Hanover Fist, the rock band later known as Hanover assembled an original roster that included lead vocalist Frank Zirone alongside guitarists George Bernhardt and David Alpin, bassist Chris Brockway, and drummer Kim Hunt. The group obtained a recording contract from MCA Records in 1984. Between that agreement and the completion of their first recordings, the ensemble underwent multiple adjustments that reduced the band name, altered several members of the lineup, and shifted the sound from the aggressive heavy metal style familiar to club audiences toward a gentler brand of hard rock. Listeners received three separate releases from Hanover in 1985, consisting of a single, an EP, and the full-length album Hungry Eyes, which contained tracks such as "Looking for Love," "Fear No Evil," "Rock Bottom," "Maze," and "High Speed Roller."
