Biography
Far from implying any ties to Finland or Japan, the moniker Hari and Aino actually belongs to a Swedish quintet of Kristoffer Rengfors, Gunnar Jacobsson, Pontus Leander, Andrea Dahlkild, and Robert Klaesson. The group came together in 2006 and crafts a lean, off-kilter brand of indie pop whose sharp guitar lines and Dahlkild’s cool, glassy voice echo the approach of California Snow Story and Sambassadeur while also recalling the classic sounds of the Orchids and the Would-Be-Goods. Cloudberry Records issued their opening EP, Your Heartache and Mine, in summer 2007; the self-titled debut LP followed on Plastilina Records the next year. In 2009 the label Cloudberry put out the single “A Considerate Kind of Home.”
