Biography
Harper Simon, whose parents are Paul Simon and Peggy Harper, first stepped before a microphone at the age of four to perform the song “Bingo” during a Sesame Street broadcast. By twelve he had become proficient on guitar and secured several spots on his father’s Graceland tour, an opportunity that directly influenced his later enrollment at Berklee College of Music. After graduation he relocated to London, where he spent several years performing with the group Menlo Park before returning to the United States to prepare his first solo project. For the self-titled album, issued in 2009, he assembled an ensemble that included Nashville session players alongside Inara George, Aaron Espinoza, and Charlie McCoy. In the years immediately following the release he promoted the record through numerous late-night television variety programs and festival engagements. Division Street, his second album, appeared in 2013 and featured contributions from musicians associated with the Strokes, Bright Eyes, and Wilco.
