Swedish comedian and actor Hasse Alfredson, born Hans Folke Alfredson in Malmö, Sweden, on June 28, 1931, maintained an active career in writing and performance that extended from the 1960s well into the following century. During the 1950s he formed a close working relationship with Tage Danielsson while both contributed sketches and programs to Sveriges Radio. In the next decade the pair established the production company AB Svenska Ord under the joint name Hasseåtage, which went on to generate an extended sequence of television variety programs, films, books, and additional projects. Their collaboration ended only with Danielsson’s death in 1985. Among Alfredson’s most recognized creations are the Lindeman sketches, which first appeared in the early 1960s as spontaneous monologues centered on imagined members of the Lindeman family. Selections from these performances have been issued on record at intervals, most comprehensively in the eleven-volume collection Lindemans Låda released in 2008.
