Haunted By Silhouettes

Emerging from Trondheim in 2013, Norwegian melodic death metal group Haunted by Silhouettes unites Per Kristian Grimsland on guitar and vocals, Mathias Jamtli Rye handling vocals, Stian Hoel Fossen on guitar, Ola Nilsen Kjøren on bass, and Håvard Bustad on drums. Their approach fuses low-tuned guitars and growling vocals with the punch of metalcore and the chill of progressive metal. Rooted in the template established by Scandinavian death metal stalwarts In Flames, At the Gates, and Dark Tranquillity, the band delivered its raw debut EP The Final Mind Plague in 2014. Later efforts reflected a clearer, more ambitious songwriting method, heard on the wide-ranging Shortcuts to Dead Ends in 2018 and the bracing yet mournful Last Day on Earth in 2019. They secured a contract with Eclipse Records before issuing the 2022 concept EP No Man Isle, which drew inspiration from English metaphysical poet John Donne.
