Hawaii featured Eddie Day handling vocals alongside Marty Friedman and Tom Azcredo on guitars, with Joe Galisha on bass and Jeff Graves behind the drums, forming one link in a chain of projects that showcased Friedman’s exceptional guitar skills. Following the dissolution of Deuce, Vixen (distinct from the all-female group of the same name), and Aloha, Friedman launched Hawaii during the early 1980s. A trio of releases appeared across multiple labels, yet none fully reflected his capabilities. Among those uneven efforts, The Natives Are Restless stood out as the strongest, though Friedman departed shortly after its issuance. Two albums with Cacophony preceded his shift to a solo path and eventual arrival in Megadeth.
