Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Hayden Besswood applies an offbeat touch to melodic psychedelic and indie pop. His colorful first album, Colors & Vows, surfaced in 2023 and blended synthesizers, effects, and tape recordings with conventional band instruments.

Hayden Besswood serves as the stage persona of French artist Quentin Le Gorrec, who grew up in the western port city of Saint-Nazaire. Early performances took place within the local folk circuit there, where he also captured solo voice-and-guitar tracks; those efforts preceded the Random Mood EP, which broadened his sonic palette toward more otherworldly dimensions and appeared on B&FF Records in April 2019.

Le Gorrec later moved to Nantes, gaining easier entry to studios, vintage equipment, and fellow musicians. Under the adopted name Hayden Besswood he assembled his debut full-length, drawing on a wide instrumental palette that included effects and tape. Aside from drums supplied by Gilles Delagrange, he handled nearly every part himself, pulling together home recordings with sessions at Terminus 3 and Le Garage Hermétique studios. Released by Requiem pour un Twister, Colors & Vows reached listeners in April 2023.
