Biography
Heather Forest crafts enchanting musical narratives for listeners ranging from the youngest children to those long past their early innocence, drawing on her distinctive artistic gift and calming vocal style. Among the cherished tales she performs in song are familiar fables such as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," "The Little Red Hen," and "Stone Soup." Over a span exceeding twenty years, she has toured throughout the United States, presenting her musical folktales to mixed audiences across age ranges. She makes her home in New York with her family at Fox Hollow Farm. Between engagements at festivals, conferences, and theaters, Forest captures her performances on recordings while also authoring award-winning children's books. Gentle Wind issued her Tales Around the Hearth in 1990. Her singular sung version of "Beauty and the Beast" received the Parent's Choice Gold Classic Award in 1993. One year afterward, The Animals Could Talk earned her a Parent's Choice Gold Award.
