Heaven For Real

An eclectic indie rock unit born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Heaven for Real deliver a nervy blast of poetic, jazz-tinged experimental rock that's as hook-laden as it is impossible to pin down. Founded in 2012 by Canadian independent music scene-makers Mark Grundy (Quaker Parents), his twin brother, Scott Grundy (Monomyth), Cheryl Hann (Old and Weird), and Nathan Doucet (Crosss), the band inked a deal with Mint Records in early 2016 and began working on what would eventually become their full-length debut. The resulting Kill Your Memory, a dynamic set of intricate post-punk/psych-pop tunes, arrived later that July. A tour of Japan in support of the LP yielded the 2018 concert cassette Heaven for Real's Live in Japan. After relocating to Toronto, the group began work on their follow-up EP. Released in early 2022, Sweet Rose Green Winter Desk Top Tell This Side Autumn of the Fighter Hot in a Cool Way saw Heaven for Real continue to flex their creative muscles. Later that year, they issued their sophomore full-length effort, Energy Bar, which was recorded with Jonas Bonetta (Evening Hymns) and mixed by René Wilson (Faith Healer).
