Biography
Originating from Condado, Puerto Rico, Héctor Giovanni works as a salsa vocalist with close ties to Gilberto Santa Rosa and the Camínalo Discos imprint. Among the artists shaping his approach are La Sonora Ponceña, Rubén Blades, Oscar D'León, Ray Barretto, and El Gran Combo. His first full-length solo release arrived in 2008 under the title Paso a Paso. Issued on Camínalo Discos, the vanity label established by salsa legend Gilberto Santa Rosa in association with Sony BMG, the album spotlights the single "A Calzón Quita'o," penned by José Aguinada and arranged by Julito Alvarado.
