Biography
Berté pursued studies under Fuchs and Bruckner at Vienna’s Conservatory of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde. Stage works formed the bulk of his output, which encompassed six ballets and twelve operettas. The standout success among them, the 1916 operetta Das Dreimäderlhaus, drew on Schubert melodies to present a loose account of the composer’s life.
