Biography
Formed in the United States, the rock outfit Highway Robbery featured Don Francisco on vocals and drums, guitarist Michael Stevens, and bassist John Livingston Tunison. Their first RCA Records album, the 1972 release For Love Or Money, established the trio as capable musicians and composers. Numerous lyrical nods to the 1960s let Highway Robbery pair hippie idealism with heavy riffs in the style of early Black Sabbath, an approach that initially clicked but ultimately left listeners and the label alike uncertain, prompting RCA to drop the band soon after the record appeared.
