Biography
Recognizing her vocation already by age 15, singer-songwriter Hilary McRae emerged as one of the earliest “developing artists” to issue a record through Hear Music, the imprint formed by Starbucks and Concord Music Group. Her retro-soul approach, reminiscent of 1970s soul and pop, appeared on the 2008 album Through These Walls. Created alongside longtime associate Zach Ziskin, the project also enlisted arranger Charlie Calello. The release later climbed comfortably inside the Top 20 of Billboard’s Top Heatseekers chart.
