Himadri

Born to a pair of genetic engineers in Toronto during the early 1970s, Himadri also counts classical Indian musicians among his relatives. Over six years he pursued studies of the sitar and created a score for one of the National Ballet of Canada’s productions. Although hip-hop ranks among his favorite styles—he once served as an opener for Public Enemy—his primary project remains the techno/terrorist outfit Teste, which he formed alongside Dave Huren. Together they issued the album Seminal Lingam plus the EPs The Wipe and Regions on Probe, a subsidiary connected to the Plus 8 imprint. Additional output from Himadri has appeared under his own name as well as the alias Turph.
