Biography
Himekami, a Japanese synthesist, shapes richly textured works that blend pop sensibilities with an almost orchestral breadth of vision. Beyond his film and television scoring assignments inside Japan, he has earned notice for mounting multimedia productions at longstanding shrines and temples nationwide. His catalog nevertheless displays uneven quality overall. Even the “best of” anthologies issued in the United States juxtapose lightweight, melodic easy-listening material with his stronger artistic statements.
