Biography
Homer Erotic transcends the boundaries of a conventional pop/rock ensemble through its fusion of evocative lyrics and hybrid sonic textures that incorporate elements of rhythm and blues alongside pop and rock. Formed in New York during 1990, the group crafts distinctive musical textures while embodying thoughtful and precise expressions of music as an artistic pursuit. The lineup consists of Angela Babin on bass and guitar, Barbara Barg handling vocals, Maggie Dubris contributing on guitar and bass, Heather Ferguson at the drums, Suzanne Gallant on percussion, Andrea Pierotti with violin, and Sarah Wendt providing vocals along with djembe and percussion. The band began attracting widespread recognition thanks to its evocative and compelling songwriting. By engaging listeners through distinctive performances that blend musical elements with components of a theatrical presentation, Erotic built a solid following within New York's underground music community. Following the issuance of their initial recording, the EP Yield, Homer Erotic issued their debut full-length album titled Homerica the Beautiful and maintained a steady schedule of live appearances across New York and throughout the United States.
