Biography
Rarely does one encounter a band whose members include a computer programmer, a librarian, and a producer/writer for a major television network, all devoted to traditional country material, yet that exact combination defines Honky Tonk Confidential. Based in the Washington, D.C. area, the musicians previously played in punk and new wave groups and shared stages with Webb Pierce and Mac Wiseman. During 1998 the group appeared at multiple venues throughout the Washington region before entering the studio. Its debut self-titled album followed in 1999 and drew critical praise for bringing a fresh presence to the traditional country honky tonk scene. In 2001 the band recorded Your Trailer or Mine?, which earned local awards along with strong reviews from both national and international music publications.
