Huey V

Milwaukee rapper Huey V focuses his writing on themes of hardship and perseverance, building tracks around dense lyrical wordplay paired with smooth melodic phrasing. Born and raised amid Milwaukee’s most difficult neighborhoods, he created his first rap at age ten after hearing Kanye West’s “Power.” Hip-hop veteran Memphis Bleek noticed the emerging talent in 2020 and signed him to Warehouse Music Group, which led to projects including the 2021 EP As Above. Immediately after joining the label that year, Huey V issued his debut single “No Regrets.” Later releases such as As Above and the 2022 single “After the Deal” examined everyday struggles while also marking his achievement in leaving those surroundings behind.
