Biography
Philadelphia alternative rock outfit Huffamoose built a devoted niche audience from the early 1990s onward on the strength of their quirky, abstract, and eccentric songs. The steadfast group came together in 1992 after vocalist Craig Elkins teamed with guitarist Kevin Hanson, bassist Jim Stager, and drummer Erik Johnson, the last of whom gave way to Chuck Treece by the close of the decade. Every member had studied music at Temple University in Philadelphia, and they cut their self-titled debut for the 7 label in 1993. Interscope brought them aboard by 1997, though the association proved brief. Their second full-length, We've Been Had Again, drew positive notices that year, yet the label soon parted ways with the act. Disillusioned with industry dealings, the Philadelphians considered disbanding permanently, but they pressed on and secured a deal with Shanachie in 1999. Their third album, I Wanna Be Your Pants, arrived the following year.
