Biography
The indie pop duo Human Highway, hailing from Ontario, Canada, drew its moniker from a 1982 comedy film that starred Neil Young and assembled during the first years of the 2000s. Nick Thorburn, frontman for the eclectic indie pop group Islands, partnered with Jim Guthrie, previously associated with both Islands and Royal City, to deliver their initial full-length release, Moody Motorcycle, in 2008. That effort highlighted the duo’s whimsical sound, which fused doo wop touches with folk textures and invited comparisons to outfits such as Half-Handed Cloud and Flotation Toy Warning.
