Biography
Humanfly, the post-metal band formed in Leeds, England, during the opening years of the 2000s, was guided by Andy Sutcliffe and John Sutcliffe, both ex-members of Canvas. Bassist Matt Dale and drummer David Jones completed the group. Taking cues from progressive forerunners like Pink Floyd as well as post-rock acts such as Neurosis, Isis, and Mogwai, they issued their debut album, God Among Insects, in 2004. The next effort, II, appeared in 2008 on 20 Buck Spin and represented the outfit’s first release beyond the United Kingdom.
