Hundred Million Martians, a five-piece outfit rooted in the Arctic outpost of Turku, Finland, channeled an impudent Ramones edge through their slapstick approach to punk and power pop. Jyrki Mäkelä handled vocals while Seppo Lehdonkivi and Tuomas Pelttari shared guitar duties, Pasi Hjerppe anchored the bass, and Jarkko Lehti propelled the drums. Hiljaiset Levyt Records issued the group’s first long-player, Martian Arts, in 1997 and followed it two years later with the sophomore effort Mars Bars.
