Biography
Hunter Moore crafts contemporary folk as a singer and songwriter, folding in pronounced country accents along with strong blues and bluegrass currents. His material draws directly from a southeastern Missouri upbringing. He spent his childhood in a rural community bordered on three sides by the Mississippi River, so tales of small-town existence anchor nearly all of his lyrics. Literary sources from the South, among them Peter Taylor and Walker Percy, shape his method of building verses. A decade of songwriting credits on Nashville’s Music Row stands among his professional milestones. Ricky Scaggs, Alabama, and Kathy Mattea have each placed his compositions on record. The independently issued solo debut Departure reached listeners in 1992. Tangible Records acquired the follow-up effort Delta Moon four years afterward, in 1996.
