Biography
Australia's I Exist fuse heavy metal with sludgy textures, doom-laden riffs, and stoner-rock grooves. The Canberra-based outfit came together in 2009, its original lineup consisting of vocalist Jake Willoughby, guitarist Aaron Osborne, bassist Sam Provost, and drummer Simon Murphy. Later that year the band issued the demo EP Three Nails and a Book of Flaws through Midnight Funeral. By 2010 bassist/vocalist Alex Young and guitarist Adrian Kelly had joined, allowing Provost to concentrate solely on guitar. Also in 2010 the group delivered its debut full-length, I: A Turn for the Worse, via Resist. Its follow-up, II: The Broken Passage, appeared on Prosthetic in 2011, with From Darkness emerging on Resist two years later.
