Emerging from Corsica in the late 1970s, the vocal ensemble I Muvrini took shape around the Bernardini brothers, Alain and Jean-François. Throughout an extended career the group ranked among the most visible acts in its regional category, forging partnerships with numerous performers both French and international, among them Sting, Luz Casal, Mc Solaar, and Véronique Samson. Between 1979 and 2007 roughly thirty albums appeared, mixing studio and concert recordings, the 2007 project I Muvrini et les 500 choristes representing the band’s seventh Gold Record awarded since 1994. Their sound progressed from Corsica’s most rooted polyphonies toward brighter pop textures while retaining their native language without interruption.
