Formed in Norway, the band known simply as I unites a roster of experienced players drawn from that nation's extreme metal underground. Olve Eikemo, widely recognized as Abbath from Immortal, handles vocals and guitar; lead guitar falls to Arve Isdal, performing as Ice Dale and formerly of Enslaved; Tom Cato Visnes, known as T.C. King from Gorgoroth, plays bass; and original Immortal members Armagedda and Demonaz supply drums and lyrics, respectively. This lineup delivered the 2006 album Between Two Worlds, whose title evokes the record's distinctive blend of black metal and conventional rock & roll.
