Biography
Hailing from Houston, Texas, IB3 landed a deal with Music World Entertainment, the imprint operated by Mathew Knowles, father of Beyoncé. Set for an April 2008 launch, her first single carried the title “Rep da Souf.” She was nineteen at the moment that track arrived. Instead of the breezy pop-rap or dance-rap commonly expected from a female artist of her age, IB3 favored the golden-age approach, centering sharp lyricism atop hard-hitting boom-bap tracks.
