Biography
From Bari, Italy, brothers Giovanni and Francesco Boccuzzi along with bassist Tonio Napoletano first drew notice as part of Festa Mobile, the jazz rock quintet that put out its lone album, the ambitious concept Dario Di Vaggio Della Festa Mobile, on RCA in 1973. After the band folded later that year, the three added drummer Piero Mangini and formed Il Baricentro, a comparably jazz-focused ensemble that recorded two EMI albums, 1976’s Sconcerto and 1978’s Trusciuant. Both records are recommended listening for admirers of Weather Report and Chic Corea.
