Biography
Copenhagen resident Søren Løkke Juul launched the Danish indie pop project Indians as a vehicle for his work as a singer, songwriter, and one-man band. Although steeped in the spectral synth textures favored by fellow Danish group Efterklang, Juul gravitated more toward the melodic, song-driven indie pop of Beirut, Gravenhurst, and Choir of Young Believers; he played his first concert under the Indians name in 2012, mere months after signing with 4AD. The outfit’s debut album, Somewhere Else, appeared the next year.
