Biography
Piotr Banach, formerly the founder and guitarist of Hey, joined forces with vocalist Piotr Gutkowski—better known as Gutek—to launch Indios Bravos in 1996. Their debut semi-official effort, Part One, surfaced in 1999 thanks to support from Palac Kultury, the imprint run by Kuba Wojewódzki. Banach then stepped away for a three-year break while Gutek pursued his separate project Mustafarai. The band’s first proper album, Mental Revolution, arrived in 2002 and consolidated their foothold in the Polish reggae circuit. Live duties expanded to include keyboardist Pawel Gawronski, guitarist Krzysztof Sak, bassist Ryszard Labul, keyboardist Przemek Filipkowski, and drummer Tomek Kubik. Four years on, an extended edition of the record was issued. Indios Bravos followed with the album Peace during autumn 2007.
