James Banbury joined forces with Paul Morley to establish Infantjoy during the first years of the 2000s. Since the Auteurs issued their first album, Banbury has contributed to countless studio projects, serving variously as cellist, keyboardist, string arranger, programmer, engineer, and producer. His playing appears on releases by Natalie Imbruglia, Tricky, Snow Patrol, and U2, and his cello also features in the main theme for Star Trek: Enterprise. A regular commentator on BBC2’s Newsnight and additional broadcasts, Morley worked his way up through the NME before becoming a journalist and author who placed himself at the heart of the ZTT label throughout the 1980s; he performed as a member of the Art of Noise and may have originated the multi-format, multi-part single format. The concept album Where the Night Goes, shaped to a considerable extent by Erik Satie’s compositions, appeared on Sony BMG in the U.K. in November 2005.
