Biography
Englishman Dave Inker brings notable ability to singing, composing, and guitar playing, while New Zealander Hilary Hamilton pairs equal strengths in songwriting and vocals; the two perform together as the duo Inker & Hamilton. Their first musical work together began in 1978. They completed their opening album, Highs & Lows, in 1980. Positive notices for the record soon secured a contract with Sony Music, for which the pair delivered Person to Person and Double Feature. In 1984 they switched to PolyGram Records and released a fourth album, The Mind and the Body.
Chart success arrived for Inker & Hamilton near the end of the 1980s and into the 1990s through singles drawn from Dancing into Danger, Poetry in Motion, and Dialogue. The title track of Dancing into Danger held a Top 20 position for fourteen weeks. Several hits, repeated European tours, and regular television and radio exposure gradually widened the duo’s following. After nearly two decades the artists issued the compilation All the Best, which includes “Flowers Today,” “It’s a Crime,” “Calling Your Name,” and their leading hit to that point, “Dancing into Danger.”
