Biography
In 1997, Ben Shirey joined on Kawai keyboards with his roommate Aaron McCann handling drums, yet Inlantic only reached full strength after Steve Zydek was added on Yamaha keys. The group fused multiple freestyle jazz and fusion approaches in the absence of any vocalist, building a base in their hometown of Normal, IL, by playing shows throughout the ironically named city and its surroundings. Following the release of their self-titled album on 404 Records and two years of activity, the band ended in 1999 once Shirey departed for the West Coast.
