Biography
Dutch death metal outfit I.N.R.I., an acronym for Insane Non-commercialized Rock Institute, came together in 2001. Vocalist Henri Veltink, guitarists Patrick Koning and Wilfred Spijker, bassist Gerjan Slot, and drummer William Vlierman formed the group, with several participants having previously played in the melodic black metal act Stigmatheïst and seeking a different direction. That shift materialized on the 2002 release Hyper Bastard Breed, whose high-velocity death metal echoed Sweden’s the Crown, Brazil’s Krisiun, and fellow Dutch band God Dethroned. After the album appeared, however, the group lost its recording contract. The members are said to remain active and are currently offering the 2006 full-length Ultra Sonic Hatestorm to other interested labels.
