Into The Abyss

Into The Abyss launched their career in 1993 by fusing a weighty, somber atmosphere with exploratory electronic textures to shape their intensely somber narrative approach. The founding trio—Janis Kalifatidis on vocals and guitar, Kostas Tzeras on bass, and Jens Gellner on drums—issued their debut album Martyrium that same year and promptly undertook live dates across their native Germany. Following the 1995 single "La Soeur D'Icare" and a split ten-inch shared with Grass Harp, the band delivered its second full-length album, The Feathered Snake, the next year.
