The music of It’s Murph embodies quintessential feel-good EDM through bright, energetic, melodic singles such as “Lost,” “Food for the Soul,” and “High and I Like It,” which have energized dancefloors during captivating sets ranging from Coachella to Bonnaroo. Garrett Murphy, raised amid a household of music appreciators in Nashville, took up piano and performed in his school choir as a youth. Exposure to a Porter Robinson performance during high school crystallized his direction, leading him to begin crafting tracks prior to receiving his diploma. He refined his skills amid University of Southern California coursework, establishing himself as a sought-after DJ for campus gatherings.
Under the It’s Murph moniker, Murphy achieved an initial breakthrough via the 2022 collaboration “Lost” with RSCL and Twin Diplomacy, which amassed streams numbering in the hundreds of millions. The following year, several months prior to completing his USC studies, he generated widespread attention with uplifting cuts including “Food for the Soul” and “High and I Like It.” Festival organizers soon booked him for appearances at Coachella and Bonnaroo, alongside a standout Electric Forest set whose rain-induced cancellation resulted in an enthusiastic rescheduled performance the subsequent day. In 2024 Murphy sustained the momentum through singles “Down Low,” “Supersonic,” and “Fade Together,” while headlining club and festival engagements throughout the U.S. and Europe.
