Biography
Jack J, known for his work as a deep house producer and soft rock singer/songwriter, has long blended indie rock with electronic dance music, shifting fully into soft rock territory with his first album, Opening the Door, issued in 2022.
He entered the world in Australia before relocating to Vancouver, Canada, during his teenage years. There he established Pender Street Steppers with Liam Butler and started Mood Hut Records in 2012, marking the label’s launch with his first solo outing under the Jack J name, the track “Something (On My Mind).” Though he seldom returned to the Jack J project, the 2015 release “Thirstin” brought a pivotal breakthrough. Years afterward came his debut full-length, on which he left behind his deep house origins for a complete indie and soft rock approach with Opening the Door.
