Biography
Discovered by the husband-and-wife production team of James Morgan and Juliette Pochin after a friend captured his voice during a Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Choir session, Jack Topping secured a Decca Records contract while still just 11 years old. Having grown up in Liverpool and sung in local youth choirs from an early age, he had already impressed several choirmasters with his talent long before any record-label interest materialized. His father’s deep appreciation for the Beatles naturally shaped the boy’s own vocal approach, leading him to draw inspiration from the Fab Four. Once brought to London to lay down his first album, Topping tackled both longstanding choral pieces and several Beatles interpretations, and he also honored Liverpool FC by recording the club’s famous terrace anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Issued late in 2013, his self-titled debut reached the U.K. Top 75 album chart; the same year he was named the youngest singer to serve as an ambassador for Save the Children.
