Biography
Jackson Slade, born in Jacksonville, Florida, pursues a distinctive creative direction grounded in country, rock, and blues while also aligning with mainstream pop and rock through his emotionally attuned lyrics and compelling melodies. His engagement with music began early, shaped by the country masters Hank Williams, Faron Young, and Eddy Arnold. After high school, renewed focus prompted by Jerry Lee Lewis’s initial rock & roll recordings led Slade to Europe, where he resided for more than three years. Upon returning to the United States he completed Moonrise Project, his debut album, which appeared in stores in 1991 and met with meaningful success. In the years that followed he sustained regular performances at numerous venues nationwide. River of Gold, his second studio album, was issued in 2000.
